• About a dozen of the miners rescued in Chile returned to the San Jose mine Sunday for a private service with friends and family.
• Most of the 33 miners trapped in the Chilean mine for the 69 days are becoming angry because they and their families are being swarmed by the media and they just want to left along.
• Montreal Alouettes defeat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 22-19 in a CFL game Sunday. This eliminate the Bombers chances to clinch a spot in the playoffs.
• New houses are completed in Alexander are encouraging people to move into them.
• Tens of thousands of French protesters in France caused a small uproar in France due to the fact that they raised the age you can get a good pension.
  
• Oct 12 Justin Bieber released his book and sold 1 ooo copies.
• Calgary Stampeders defeat Sask. Roughriders 34-26.
• Ben, Reg, and BJ went duck hunting and bagged 15 ducks. In all and 3 were BJ's.
• A homeless Wpg man died after waiting for 34 hours at a hospital in Wpg and not receiving treatment.
• An explosion rocked a coal mine in China and there are fatalities.
  
• NHL stats show Toronto Maple Leafs and Dallas Stars leading.
• A prototype robot has has bean invented to help with elderly and the sick children.
• A toxic waste spill happen in Hungary.

Yesterday girls went to Elkhorn to play Volleyball we won 3 games and lost won!
Boys went to Reston to play and won 2 games and lost one set!
Student council meeting today!
FCC collected our food for the food drive today and we have a chance of winning 500$.

• Sunday was 10/10/10. People decided to get married on this special date in history.
• October 20th has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, 5 Sundays. It only happens every 823 years!
• Last Wednesday Roy Halladay of Phillies had his 2nd post season no hitter.
• They are making Justin Bieber nail polish,dolls and home decor for the Christmas Season!
• Afghanistan fighting to combat mental health problem affecting 2/3 of its population as a result of the war which has lasted 2 decade.
• Saturday would have been the late John Lennon's 70th birthday.
• The weight loss drug meridia has been pulled off the market in both Canada and US because of worries about drug side effects such as heart attacks and stokes.
• On Monday Montreal Allouettes beat Calgary Stampeders 46-19!
• Winnipeg Blue Bombers beat BC Lions 47-35 (Overtime)
• People are so anxious to become thin they are at times willing to ingest tapeworm larval in order to lose wieght.
  
• Joues claim health care in chaos. Winnipeg hospitals are over populated and there are very long waiting lists for nursing homes.
  
• Wednesday Oct 13 OLCS girls have to travel to Elkorn and the boys are going to Reston for the first Volley Ball wins.
• The miners in Chile are almost ready to be rescued after 9 weeks! Tomorrow rescue operation begin!

• There was an amazing speaker from Australia that came and talked to us about Australia's history and culture. Her name was Mrs. Robyn Menghi.

• Tomorrow Grade 8's will have a guest speaker. She is from Australia- she is a teacher and she will present on her country and it's history! She is here visiting her son and her family. Tonight each grade 8 will right out 5 questions to ask about Australia for tomorrow.

• It was national Chewing gum day on Friday, October 1.
• On Thursday it was the Flinsyones 50th anniversary.
• Farmers are having trouble getting to their fields due to excessive rain.
• Shoal Lake Yellowhead chiefs AAA hockey team had their first home game on Friday and unfortunately lost to the Winnipeg Wild 6-0
• A few weeks ago a girl walked out of a sunglasses store. She had on sunglasses and someone threw acid in her face. If she wasn't wearing sunglasses, she would have gone blind.
• The 500 bike ride for MS was this past weekend.
• The walk for autism was this past weekend in Brandon.
• The Bison Transport trailer with back end blown out right beside the Oak Lake turn off.
• Their was a big recall on Fisher Price products. There were over 11 million toys bring recalled.
• Saskatchewan Roughriders QB Darion Dwarnt has been selected the CFL's offencive player of the month for September. Roughriders slot back Andy Fantuz picked up the top Canadian honors.
