-September 27, 2011 there was a tropical storm in the Philippines that left 35 people missing and 21 people killed. The typhoon is called Nesat and had winds gusting up to 75 mph.

-A court case is happening with the late pop singer Michael Jackson's doctor being charged.

-Joseph Moraachli the terminally ill baby at the center of a legal ethical battle has died at his home in Windsor, Ontario at the age of 20 months.

-In Montreal a holocaust survivor has given a museum a jacket she was forced to where while imprisoned over 6 decades ago. Imy Nemenofy Gellent donated the rare item on her 97th birthday as a reminder of that dark period in history.

-Vancouver police still a month sway from laying charges to people about the Stanley Cup riots. they may lay 40 charges at least.

-The Brandon Wheat Kings played the Swift Current Broncos on September 28th. Th Wheat Kings won in overtime 6-5. Brandon's next game is Friday vs Broncos again!

-Rick Hanson wheel chaired across Canada once and he's doing is again! He is raising money and awareness for people with spinal injuries. He has raised approximately 21 million dollars and will stop at OLCS in January.

History Happening Today

September 21, 2011

Last night the Winnipeg Jets won their first game in 15 years. The score was 6 to 1. They were playing against the the Columbus Blue Jackets. The team split into 2 cities. There were 15,004 people in attendance at the MTS Centre. The biggest crowd they have had for a pre season game.

Prime Minister Stephan Harper may have a tough time getting reelected next Federal Election. The 3 opposing parties are struggling to find leadership. Harper and his family have recently visited Manitoba and Alberta and realizes what Unique provinces they are.

Blaine's hosted dirt bike races in August. There were over 70 riders competing. Aaron and BJ both won trophies during the event. It was hot weather and lots of H2O and Gatorade were consumed . The Blaine's will host the race again next year.

Rogue Space junk- a defunk satellite is headed toward Earth. Size of a school bus. It was used to measure the ozone and wind speed. Has been in space since 1991. Will crash this week? Probably will crash in the ocean- Since planet earth is 70% H2O.

Kelleher Ford dealership in Dauphin burns and a nearby church is damaged by the fire. It is believed the fire resulted from the wiring in the air conditioner. Other arrangements are being made to sell vehicles in a rented space.

A 19 year old male was charged with texting while driving when his vehicle hit and injured another driver.

September. 15 80 million year old feathers were found in Alberta by a scientist. They are believed to belong to dinosaurs and they developed feathers to keep them warm in our climate.

Fighter jets escorted 2 flights one to New York city another to Detroit,after passengers use of bathrooms aroused suspicions. Sunday the 10th anniversary of September 11th,2001 attacks.

Lagos, Nigeria off the cost of West Africa armed pirates raided a tanker, kidnapped 23 sailors aboard on Wednesday. The sailors vessel was in waters with an increasing risk of pirates.

Katya's baby brother Reinhardt was born on September the 7th, weighed 5.7 lbs. Adorable!

In 2006 a cat goes missing in Boulder, Colorado is found in 2011 in New York city. The cat traveled 2,500 km. The cat was ID from a microchip and it's owners were found.

Small Businesses don't half to pay taxes until they take in $500,000, farmers and large businesses still pay full taxes.

History happening today

September 19 2011

A motorcyclist was hit and pinned underneath a car. Other motorists stopped their vehicles and lifted up the car and freed the injured motorcyclist. The car blew up and the motorcyclist has other motorists to thank for saving his life.

The number of women developing cervical cancer is increasing especially in Edmonton, Alberta. It is recommended that women are scanned to try to catch the disease earlier so treatments will be more effective.

Hurricane Maria hit the east cost of Canada with high winds and rain. Especially the Avalon Peninsula of New found land was hardest hit.

9/11 was a series of 4 passenger jets, 2 went into the twin towers in New York, one into a field by Pennsylvania and one into the pentagon in Washington. This September marked the 10th anniversary of these tragedies and people gathered to mourn the event and the loss of lives

2 memorials now stand in the place where the twin towers were. spotlights and a light show marked the occasion "tribute in life". The Taliban/ Alquaida although the leader of the terrorist attack Bin Laden was captured and killed this year are still threatening a terrorist attack. Security especially at airports is being increased. As they have a new leader in place who threatens more terrorists attacks. President of US honors fallen victims of attack by encouraging others to remember this day as one to help others. Stephen Harper PM of Canada marked the anniversary of the death of 24 Canadians who were killed in the 9/11 attacks.

-September 7th a 3 year old boy was abducted from his home while he was sleeping in Spar wood, BC. He was missing 4 days and was returned unharmed. His captor was arrested and is being assessed.
- On the 10th anniversary if 9/11 people gathered in memory of the 2977 people that died and the 6,000 that were injured in the 9/11 terrorist attack.the economic crisis that the U.S is going through has its roots in the 9/11 attack some people believe
