HHT September 26th 

On September 26, 2012 the Oil Capitals had the home opener and they won 4-2. The Oil Capitals  are off to a great start to their season with a 2-1 record.

Some Facebook users are upset that old private messages are now appearing on users timelines. 

Canadians are spending more and more money on things they want. Majority of Canadians surveyed by The Bank of Montreal say that they shop to cheer themselves up and mood-lifting impulse purchases cost Canadians $3,720 annually.

 The Edmonton Oilers are  actually thinking about moving to Seattle people don't think an NHL team will be able to stay in Seattle because they will have to pay for 5 teams.

In Winnipeg a museum was given strands of a rope, that was believed to be the rope used to hang Louis Riel.

-On Sept.16/2012, Thousands of people all gathered in Coquitlam BC for the annual Terry Fox run.

-Opportunity Rover has detected a blueberry like sphere on the planet mars. This is a possible explanation of life on Mars.

-Manitoba might have another choice when they go to vote. They call themselves Manitoba Party Moniker. It is made up of 30-40 people, some who are former elected officials.

-700 goats were let out onto a 17000-acre community pasture in Humbolt, Sask. to control and push back Wolf Willows and Poplar trees taking over the land.

-OLCS received a thank you from Katheryn Buckley and the orphanage in Haiti that we sponsored school supplies to last school year.

History Happening Today
Sept.18/2012

-On Saturday Sept.1 The Lowell and Eileen Winters farm celebrated their 50th anniversary. It started at 6:30pm and lasted until 2:30am!

-The NHL will have another lock out season. The players are asking management for more money and management is saying NO! Lots of players will go to Europe to play including Alexander Ovechkin (captain for the Washington capitols).  All the Minnesota wild fans will get 10% of their ticket money back.

-Fire in Rossburn on Saturday claims lives of an elderly couple. It was caused by an electric heater.

-iPhone 5 topped 2 million orders in the first 24  hours. The iPhone 5 is bigger, thinner, and faster. the iPhone 5 is also more money. The 16 GB is $699, the 32 GB is $799 and $899 for 64 GB. 
-The Winnipeg Jets left winger "Evander Kane" will be thier for the next 6 seasons due to the signing of a 315 million dollar contract.

-On Sept.9/2012 the Virden True Value burnt down. The seniors four-plex behind was damaged all seniors got out.
